About IHEP
The Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is China's leading particle physics institute and a world-class multidisciplinary research hub. With over 1,500 full-time staff and 1,000 postdoctoral and graduate students, IHEP builds and operates cutting-edge facilities, including the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider (BEPCII), the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS), and the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS). Our mission integrates basic research, technological innovation, and applications for societal benefit.
About the Multi-Disciplinary Research Center (MDRC)
The MDRC of IHEP leverages advanced photon science and technologies to provide open platforms for interdisciplinary research in condensed matter physics, chemistry, biology, materials science, energy, environmental science, and archaeology. Key facilities include:
· High Energy Photon Source (HEPS): Asia's first fourth-generation synchrotron light source, under construction, designed to achieve world-leading brightness and enable groundbreaking research across disciplines.
· Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF): A fruitful platform based on BEPCII, providing synchrotron radiation for diverse scientific applications.
· High-Intensity Slow Positron Beam Facility: This advanced facility integrates conventional and coincidence Doppler broadening measurement methods for slow positron beams, along with positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy capabilities.
· Key Laboratory of Nuclear Analysis Techniques (LNAT): Specializing in nuclear analysis methods (e.g., positron annihilation spectroscopy, ion beam analysis) with applications in structural biology, radiochemistry, nanotechnology, and environmental health.
